Prelude to #JourneyOfFive 2017

Last year my word was Focus for 2016. Focus on the things that matter and eliminate the things that don't. My biggest focus was on the adoption process of my oldest two boys and securing our future together.

The year started out chaotic as always and I had recently made a commitment to being on a leadership/vision team for my church Reach Church. Little did i know the total effect it would have on the boys and I throughout the year. We became closer to God, the boys began to sing praise songs each and every morning as we were on our way to school, church, or wherever the road would lead us. Summer brought about new ventures including fishing, riding, bonfires, and the family favorite race tracks making all but one event at Badlands Motor Speedway this summer.

Little did we know the total curve ball coming for us in the passing of our beloved Grandpa Gordon. On Dec 2nd the 31st year for me on this earth a close friend lost her fiance lover and husband. It slammed my reality to just how precious life is with my children and how we never know when it is our time. We began the new school year and fall only to feel the pain of the loss of Great Grandma Jill right after Christmas joining Grandpa and all the other loved ones up above.

This year the word did not come as easy to me as it did prior but I am now quite certain the choice is correct and plan to do a lot with it. 2017 will be a year of Reclamation. This year will include supporting words such as; Restore. Renew. Revive. Reclaim. Redeem.

I am eager to share the journey with you all in 2017 and have much in store so like share and join us on our journey at www.journeyoffive.com
